I have always found gluten free pies expensive and disappointing! This has put me off pies for many years, because of this I was reluctant to try them again after my last few tries. However I am glad I did.
Genius has lived up to its name! They have managed to great a tasty pie pastry which is not chalky and won't instantly crumble.
The pastry is hard where it needs to be and soft and light in the right parts too. Sounds simple but many in the past have failed in that.
They source is very tasty too, it is runny but not too much and flavourful. Plus you get a good amount of steak too.
Fat and sugar are comparatively low considering they are pies, each pie is 380 cal with 20.3g of fat and 9.6g of sugar. However you may need to watch out for the 0.97g of salt. Always enjoy these as part of a healthy diet.
These pies are great as a quick after work meal as they need no preparation and cook in 35 min in the oven.
They are not cheap compared to non free from foods but within the freefrom market they are reasonably priced compared to the quality of the product.
